Premier Class Association

PREMIER CLASS ASSOCIATION

 Objectives of the  Premier Class Association:

1.       Improve racing and race management standards in this region;

2.       Provide better racing for our members within a competitive and narrow rating bandwidth;

3.       Enhance participation in Regattas;

4.       Organize and collaborate in organizing ocean and offshore races such as the Friar Trophy, Route Halifax Saint-Pierre;

5.       Provide opportunities for post junior sailing people to race in larger offshore-capable racing yachts.

Who can belong?

The Association was formed in September 2001 to extend the concept of Premier Class racing in this region so similar boats would enjoy more competitive and even racing within an acceptably narrow rating bandwidth. The Association welcomes as members all monohull boats with PHRF 90 or ASPN 130 and  which are over 30 feet hull  l.o.a.

The Premier Class Programme

The Association holds an annual championship series based on cumulative results from major regattas which include a Premier Class, and other specified events. Association awards and  recognition is accorded to paid up members.

(Sep 2001)

[1] Yachts 30 ft and over with ASPN close below 130 which are prepared to race at ASPN 130 or PHRF equivalent  are welcome to join.
